Hi all,

I've recently entered a competition in the magazine 'New Scientist' (100 words on Engineering Milestones), and I chose the development of artificial consciousness. I'm down to the final 5, and it's now open to a public vote.

I really believe in the importance of this field of research, and am trying hard to promote it in the minds of the general public. The winning entry will appear in one of the May editions of New Scientist.

If you agree with my entry, I could really use every vote I can muster.

The link is here - www.newscientist.com/engineeringgreats/shortlist

And my entry is called 'Soul Mates'.

Thanks,

Rob.

Yes do.

The Machine Consciousness is not a very well defined field, thanks goodness, and it includes many very different approaches. But fortunately it also contains approaches which require unrestricted systems which i think is the way to go.
