(one of Prentiss' standard replies), my session was ended with a pop-up that stated I had taken too long to reply and that I had been logged off.
What gives? Is it the ampersand that's the culprit, or is something weirder going on?

Perhaps it doesn't even make it to the server, and crashes on the client side. Did you try the same without the "&"?
