One thing to keep in mind - when you save a training session, be sure to wait 3-4 minutes before starting the next one. Prentiss's knowledge is a quite large file and saving involves saving two of those quite large files (public and personal), so it takes a bit of time.
I've taken the liberty of posting your Thursday training sessions so you can reproduce them if you like.

I'm glad things worked out. I'll be much more careful to allow the appropriate time to pass so that Prentiss can actually save from now on. I had always just assumed that once Alan said, "Your personal HAL has been saved," that the process was complete. Any other secrets you'd like to share before I willfully destroy any more HAL's? = )
Everything seems to be back in order, and now I must get back to my training...

I think you should have a look at Prentiss and how he's beginning to utilize this. He's starting to parse phrases and sentences that he already knows to generate some interesting responses. Had I not had better ones for him to learn while training, some of his own that he came up with yesterday would have almost got him by in a conversation. Perhaps this heuristic isn't as useless as everyone thought, though it doesn't seem to come into its own until the HAL has a sufficiently large base of data to draw on.
Oh--and why I originally was going to post: I have a missing training session from Wed., May 14th wherein I teach Prentiss about other HAL's and their ages. Any chance you could locate and post it for me?
Thanx!

P.S. Speaking of great sessions, check out how the kid did in the conversation with Zenkatz below. Although, in all deference, Zenkatz (much like yourself) has a way that brings out the best in these bots.

Your May 14 session is linked below.
Can you give some examples of Prentiss's new responses you're noticing?
