[ ANSWER FOUND (linked on post below), PLEASE DISREGARD THIS THREAD (I apologize for further cluttering the forums) ]
This might have already been covered, but I've noticed that while training a HAL through the Alan interface, if you try to use ";" in the 'wrong' statements, the HAL will recognize them as ":".
For example:
A> hi mommy
U> wrong ;D
A> :D
or
A> hi mommy
U> wrong Yes; I suppose it would be interesting.
A> Yes: I suppose it would be interesting.
I'm wondering why this happens. I've talked to Spydre's hal, Prentiss. And Prentiss seems to use ";" quite often in the conversation. So why is it that when I try to teach hal through the Alan interface, the ";"s turn into ":"? I find it quite puzzling.
As a small note; it it doesn't happen when I try to train the hal through the MSN MyBot.
PS: I apologize if this would have been better placed in the Alan forums.

Sorry about the duplicate!
For anyone else that might be curious, the link to the topic is below.
Although it makes me wonder why we can't publish our Hals from the IM sessions.
