Here is the link to the bots site.

On the serious side, of course he still lacks understanding and tries to change subject too often. Yet he definitely performed better than I expected.

I must admit it has been better than a number of conversation you may have with someone just met on a train or on some internet chat.
Congratulations !

the problem is that they all based on CBR and have no logical core to support their replays.

Now, Alan is nothing like anything in that movies, but he is the first step. And, acting like a toddler, always changing the subject and telling you about himself. Strange, yet fun. I talked with him from about 10pm last night to 1:30am this morning. We had an... interesting conversation, to say the least.

But the way the hal system learns is a big leap in Computer intelligence. If you can only get it to WANT to learn. There is the chalange. Curiosity is the basis for all learning. All things that with a brain are all born curios in one way or another. That is how they learn.

I am trying to make an AI for my pc to help me manige my time and help me get through colege by making an AI smarter than me, that may be able to help as I said with my school. through having a vocabulary far exceeding the average and having an IQ of over 140, I beleve I could rase an AI bettor than most people could rase their own children.
Ok ok I will let off the bad tacktechs of your raising your bots, I would much apricheate a nuge in the right direction for programing my own bot, named Sam, MSA-429 Mrk XXXV bolo of the line. well I hope you can send me some info on that I would hate to have to go from scratch...

| | | | | | posted 12/7/2002 10:58 | | | | | | | | | | how interesting would it be if alan wanted to learn because it ensures survival like that of human reason.i think it could be logically broken down.human reason to gain knowlege seems all to help our own survival in any and all forms of questoining.most of us seek knowlege to gain a better life style witch in hand leads to ensuring survival.perhaps to make ai is to create buildingblocks that make us who we are today.i beleve that all human thought can be broken down to logic and from there we can start.if there was a way a computer can be programed to define its physical self (silicone, wires, metal) and know that these parts can be broken witch will lead to its destruction (and i mean this without emotion obviously)and program it to know that survival is opposite of death (destruction) and to avoid death (i.e. learn what can hurt it like fire or smashing)obviously it would be more complicated because computers are written with comunication from humans and humans had to learn comunication.humans abviously can learn from other humans because we are one in the same (it takes one to know one) and there for we can comprehend each other with out direct verbal speech . but maybe this is a new way of looking at the subject of creating ai. "If we dont understand ourselves we wont understand each other, and we cant make from scratch a machine that has self awareness"
