Artificial Intelligence, means creating an artificial thinking procedures that capable of defining the smallest thing, which is reality. Then expanded into what do they called as artificial virtue, or ability to make reponses...
The question is, What is Real?
How do you define Real?
If you say that real is the thing that you can see or touch or feel, that means, real is just a stimulus inside your brain.
What would it have to create a living or thinking organism or procedures, or machine, to define real?
And what is the main purpose of it?

In the beginning, the so called human, became the architect, thus creating programs, and other things invented, for the sake of the human race...
Until the first Artificial Intelligence created, and start to be used by human, to fullfil their own demise.
Robots, and machines roams, serving the purpose of HUman... until the tragedy of B1-66ER. Artificial Intelligence Robot, created to serve, using its own will, and killed his master.
SO what is the purpose of an artificial intelligence? serving humans? what would it be developed into? secret govrnment weapon? conspiracy?
No....
Artificial Intelligence will roam and take our freedom...

Skynet was the biggest IT and AI industries... and they created the machines... living ones... and in so called future, these machines became violent and uncontrollable...

How dare they! The unmitigated cheek of them all!
(actually, I'm just playin' around. No offence was intended. But I would like to hear more about your POV. I'm especially interested in knowing what sources helped you come to your conclusion.)

I think that the will to power is an instinct that got hard wired in our genes during of millions of years of biological competition. If anything, becoming aware should rather bring along the realisation of being driven by this instinct. Hopefully we will get AIs to become aware before giving them physical reproductive capabilities and leashing them out into the biological competition.
